The city of Villa Rica, GA, a bedroom community located just 20 miles due west of Atlanta, has a population of 15,000 with a medical service population of over 90,000.  Tanner Health System is a 3 hospital; not-for-profit healthcare system serving western Georgia and eastern Alabama. Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica is a brand new, state of the art, 40 bed acute care hospital. 

Villa Rica City Hospital joined the Tanner Health System family in 1985, becoming Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica and serving northeastern Carroll County, western Douglas County and southwestern Paulding County. In October 2003, Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica unveiled a brand new $17 million facility that features a beautiful birthing center, an expanded imaging department with MRI, high speed CT and PET scanning, a six-bed ICU, a 22-bed Medical/Surgical unit, 12 postpartum rooms and an expanded Emergency Department, all designed for patient privacy and the highest quality of health care. The impressive rotunda which marks the entrance to the new facility soars three levels and has been constructed with the capability to add an additional floor in the future.
