St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center located in Hot Springs Arkansas is actively recruiting a BC/BE emergency medicine physician to join their stable group of 12 physicians and wonderful nursing staff. St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center is a 317-bed facility is located on a 72 acre medical campus. It is a non-profit catholic hospital and part of the Sisters of Mercy Health System.
Our 22-bed Emergency Department is complete with state-of-the art equipment and special rooms for cardiac, trauma, Ob/Gyn, pediatric, ENT and orthopedics. Five major rooms, 12 other exam rooms, and 5 beds in our ED Observation / Chest Pain Unit (CPU).
We are currently in the design mode for a new ED with completion due in the spring. ED volume is close to 40,000/year with double and triple coverage to maintain approximately 1.8 patients per physician per hour. We currently have 58 hours of physician coverage on weekends and 54 hours during the week – this includes eight to ten hours of coverage daily in our Minor Emergency Care Area. Coverage is with a variety of 8, 9, and 10 hour shifts. With our current schedule, the physician workload is averaging 1.8 patients per physician per hour. Scheduling is flexible. The group offers a very competitive compensation & benefits package including relocation.
