General Surgery Opportunity

A Group of Northwest Iowa Hospitals are seeking a General Surgeon to join a group of two General Surgeons who are currently providing services at 5 locations including Rock Valley, Sheldon, Sibley, Rock Rapids and Primghar.  Our proximity to Sioux Falls, SD and Sioux City, IA affords easy access to all of the amenities of the city, while offering the quality of life only a rural community can provide. Our service area drives a diverse economy of healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture. Excellent school systems are found in each community with both public and private educational opportunities offered. 

Hospitals:  All five hospitals are 25 bed Critical Access Hospitals.  Services vary by hospital, with 4 of the 5 providing obstetrical care including C-sections.

Education:  Public and private education are available depending on the community in which you choose to live. 

Recreation:  Our communities offer a variety of recreational activities including golf, tennis, swimming, softball and basketball leagues, youth soccer, fishing areas, and picnic / camping areas and much more.      

Employment:  The Physician will have the option to be an employee of Avera McKennan, our can join the private practice of the two existing physicians.  Competitive base salary with production incentives and excellent retirement and vacation benefits are available.
