Hospital Description:

John Randolph Medical Center, an HCA facility, is a 271-bed, full-service, medical-surgical facility and has been caring for children, adults, and seniors since 1915. The patients seen at John Randolph Medical Center are mostly medicine-related. Major trauma is low and only 15% are pediatric patients.

The Emergency Department, with an annual volume of 30,000 patients, has undergone renovations making it a very attractive and efficient department. It has a total of 24 beds, 19 in the department and five in the Fast Track / Occupational Medicine area. All rooms are private.

Location Description:
Hopewell, incorporated in 1916, is one of Virginia’s oldest inhabited areas and one of its youngest municipalities. Today, Hopewell has an approximate population of 22,000 and is located 20 miles southeast of Richmond, Virginia - the state capital. Hopewell, Virginia is home to several international industrial giants. Hopewell’s small town, historic ambiance belies its industrial strength and positive economic climate. Many recreational opportunities are available such as swimming, boating, golf, and fishing. Great housing and educational opportunities abound. Hopewell’s proximity to Richmond – voted one of “America’s Most Livable Cities” in 2004 – is also a benefit. In addition, three major theme parks, Washington D.C., Virginia Beach, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are all less than a two-hour drive away.

Qualifications:
Board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine. Will consider board-certified in Primary Care with extensive ED experience.
