Calais Regional Hospital serves the rural community of Calais, and is 90 miles East of Bangor, Maine. The facility serves a population of 16,000 people, with an extensive emergency department to cater to the community’s needs. The ED is 10% trauma, 75% primary care, and 15% pediatrics. ED includes emergency treatment center, cast room, minor surgery room, general exam room, and voice recognition dictation system.
