MeritCare Bemidji is seeking a BC/BE Dermatologist to join its 64-physician multi-specialty group practice in this picturesque resort community of 15,000. The dermatology practice is staffed by one full-time board-certified dermatologist and three full time nurses. General dermatology, surgical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology services are offered to a broad patient population base that includes pediatric to geriatric patients drawn from northern Minnesota. 

The practice boasts a full range of ancillary services including a phototherapy unit, a practice-owned CO2 laser and leased lasers for a variety of cosmetic and medical procedures. The practice will soon be expanding to a new 8000 sq ft facility with space for three providers, two receptionists, six or more nurses, a histology technician and an aesthetician. 

Additional services will include a Mohs surgery lab with cryostat and two-headed microscope; treatment rooms for each laser (CO2, Candela GentleMax and Candela Perfecta); treatment room for microdermabrasion (DiamondTome); large phototherapy room with patient dressing rooms, UVB, PUVA, NBUVB and hand & foot unit; two large surgical procedure rooms with nearby patient waiting area for Mohs stages; additional nurse treatment rooms for suture removal, Unna boot and other dressing changes; and an aesthetician consultation room and space for retail sale of cosmeceutical products. 

Cosmetic services currently available include sclerotherapy, chemical peels, Botox injections, Restylane and other fillers, CO2 laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, laser hair removal, laser removal of tattoos, pigmented lesions and laser treatment of vascular lesions.

Sanford Clinic Bemidji, founded in 1947 by doctors Whittemore, Groschupf and McCann, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1997. The clinic has been extensively remodeled, including construction of a new administration building in 1994 and a family medicine center in 1995. The clinic currently employs 300 people.

Bemidji, Minnesota the county seat for Beltrami County, has a population of over 11,000; the Greater Bemidji area has a population of 26,000. With vast forested areas and 600 lakes within 30 miles of Bemidji, it's a hot spot for snowmobiling, fishing hunting, hiking, skiing and tourism. The big statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox in Bemidji is one of the most photographed landmarks in the United States. 

Bemidji is also a retail/wholesale trade center with local, national and international manufacturing. The city has over 125 shops and 50 restaurants. Woolen products are produced by Bemidji Woolen Mills and many Native American handmade goods are sold in the area. Lady Slipper Designs, a nationally recognized company, is based in Bemidji and sells locally made artifacts throughout the country. 

An educational community, Bemidji is the home of  Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College.
