Chowan Hospital has an annual ED Volume of 10,000 with 7 beds in the Emergency Department. Physicians are given the flexibility of working 12 or 24 hour shifts. The facility is a part of University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina. University Health operates a network of hospitals and related services in North Carolina. They are anchored by Pitt Community Hospital and Academic Medical Center in Greenville. Edenton is known as the “prettiest small town.” Nestled along the Edenton Bay of and picturesque Albermarle sound. Draped in centuries of cypress and magnolia trees, Edenton is a showcase of architecture, culture and old southern charm. Just One over an hour to Norfolk and 2 hours to Raleigh.
