Sterling Regional MedCenter is a 36-bed, acute care Level III trauma facility with 4 large operating rooms and health and wellness services with a total service area of over 75,000 and has served the health care needs of northeastern Colorado and the surrounding area since 1938. This facility was one of the original six Lutheran Hospitals established in 1938. In 1999, Lutheran Health Systems and the Samaritan System officially joined together to become Banner Health, one of the largest non-church affiliated, nonprofit health care systems in the United States.
Sterling Regional’s programs include a Level III trauma center, the James B. Harrigan Center for Kidney Dialysis and an extensive Specialty Clinic, which allows patients convenient access to specialists in rural Colorado. Sterling also has IPROB, a computerized system designed to reduce the chance of complications during labor and delivery. The hospital’s highly skilled professionals provide quality medical care and excellent patient services, making it a regional center for excellence in northeastern Colorado. Sterling Regional is the second largest employer in Logan County with approximately 300 employees and more than 20 physicians representing 10 specialties.
