Medical Imaging Services
Medical Imaging Services at Upson Regional Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of imaging modalities. Imaging services is staffed 24 hour daily, seven days a week with highly qualified radiology technologists to perform medical imaging procedures. Board certified radiologists are on staff to interpret the procedures.
URMC employs the latest method of obtaining and storing medical imaging procedures by utilizing computerized radiography and a Picture Archive Communications System (PACS). All diagnostic radiology procedures are performed with computerized radiography and digitally stored on PACS. All of the other modalities acquire images digitally and the images are stored on PACS. PACS enables the referring physician to view images on their office computer, home computer, and on computers throughout URMC. Medical imaging procedures can also be copied to CD’s for viewing by the physician or other facilities.
Our services include:

Additional capabilities of our 64 slice CT are coronary CT angiography, coronary calcification scoring, perfusion imaging, and non-invasive vascular imaging of arteries and veins. Outpatients are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM weekdays.
MRI
MRI procedures are performed on a short-bore1.5Telsa magnet. In addition to routine MRI procedures, we perform high quality MRA procedures. MRI is staffed from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM weekdays.
Mammography
Our mammography section consists of a digital mammography system with a computer aided detection (CAD) computer, a stereotatic breast biopsy system, and a DEXA scanner for bone osteoporosis scans. Our digital mammography system and our CAD computer improves our radiologists ability to detect adnormalities of the breast by as much as 25%. Mammography is staffed from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM weekdays.
