Solo-practitioner recruiting physician to join outpatient & inpatient practice. 13 bed inpatient unit staff with 24 FTEs. 50 to 60 discharges per month.
Founded in 1905, City Hospital is a non-profit community hospital located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, 90 miles from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. It has 260 licensed beds, 144 staffed; 24-hour level 3 trauma center emergency room, critical care, obstetrics and pediatrics units. There are 897 employees, 125 physicians on staff in 30 different specialties. Current facility was built in 1970s and has been extremely well-maintained. Radiology services are digital; housing first in region 64-slice CT. Inpatient and outpatient oncology services; participating in oncology clinical trials. Has IMRT and IGRT radiation oncology.
In January 2005, Gateway Regional Health System, the parent corporation for City Hospital in Martinsburg, and Jefferson Regional Health System, the parent corporation for Jefferson Memorial Hospital, in Ranson, merged into a single healthcare system known as West Virginia University Hospitals-East. This marked the conclusion of a merger proposal that had been under discussion by the Boards of City Hospital, Jefferson Memorial Hospital and West Virginia University Hospitals for more than a year.
WVUH-East is a regional not-for-profit healthcare system serving the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The system includes City Hospital a 260 bed facility, the City Hospital Foundation, Gateway Health Services and Gateway Health Enterprises, in addition to Jefferson Memorial Hospital a 45 bed facility and its related entities. As a unified healthcare delivery system, the mission of WVUH-East is to improve the health status of Eastern Panhandle Residents by providing high-quality health and wellness services, expanding access to care, and participating in the education of healthcare professionals
