Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Center (CVPH) is a private, non-profit, level II trauma center serving a tri-county area of 170,000 in northeastern New York.   CVPH is a regional tertiary center that offers high technology and is JCAHO accredited.  It is one of eight

state-designated Regional Resource Centers for Emergency Management and is a Designated Area Trauma Center in the state Lifestar Trauma System.  CVPH is fully committed to IHI*s 5 Million Lives campaign. 

Our typical daily census is approximately 280 (approximately 170 acute beds) with 155 physicians on the Medical Staff.  We are one of the few New York hospitals that

typically operate in the black. 

The services offered here are advanced and our technology vast. Our state of the art critical care unit has 14-beds, the Progressive Care Unit has 12 beds and our two new cath labs have digital equipment. We just opened our newly constructed OR*s (9), main lobby and patient registration area. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center has 4 OR*s and 4 endoscopy suites. The latest piece of equipment being utilized is the daVinci Robot. Our newly constructed Medical Arts Building houses a state of the art laboratory, pharmacy, outpatient cardiology services, and physician office space. Of significance is that we expanded our cardiology services to include open-heart surgery and angioplasty in 2005.  Of significance is that this program has been recognized nationally and at the state level for its excellence and outcomes.

CVPH is located in a residential neighborhood on a park-like campus with a pond, walking trails, beautiful trees and landscaping.  It is commonplace to find geese and ducks roaming about.  There is also a fenced in area with llamas.
