Jackson Madison County General Hospital is the largest teritary care facility in West Tennessee outside of Memphis and Nashville.  We have a large coverage area that includes 19 counties.  The facility is undergoing a large expansion and are in the process of building a 9 story patient bed tower.  We are also gearing up to implement a hospital wide EMR.  Radiology is currently electronic as well as the historical medical record, current laboratory results, EKG's, and several other applications.  This information is also available in a physician's home through an internet connection.  We are a GE test site and have all the lasted technology, such as 2 64-slice CTs, PET/CT, etc.  There are 275 physicians on staff and we were recently named one of the nation's top 100 cardiac hospitals in the country by Thomson.
