Our team has dedicated their lives to taking care of kids. They know how to treat children, and how to communicate with them.  Our equipment is specially-designed for children. And our hospital itself has been purposefully designed with children in mind.  The best health care for children is care that is specific to children and their families. That is what you will find at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Currently, we have 170 active studies, in varying stages of development, in which our patients can participate. Our physician investigators have made significant contributions to pediatric clinical research and have received national recognition in the following sub-specialties: Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Endocrinology, Hematology, Neonatology, Oncology, and Rheumatology.

As a designated children's hospital, The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical pediatric care in more than 30 specialties, all integrated within a state-of-the-art child-and-family-focused facility.

The Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center exceeds the standards of pediatric healthcare as defined by the Children's Hospital Association and the State of New Jersey.  In 1988 the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital began providing pediatric emergency services to the community.  In 2017 our Pediatric emergency department treated over 36,000 patients in its dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department-demonstrating a clear need for these pediatric services in our community.
