Hospital Information

The 197-bed hospital is an acute care and surgical facility that has served the Binghamton community since 1925. Delivering more than 1,000 babies each year, the hospital is home to a newly re-designed birthing center, 11 private birthing suites and educational classes for new parents. The hospital has also earned the Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care designation through the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program.

Binghamton is home to the Eastern League’s Binghamton Rumble Ponies baseball team (an AA affiliate of the New York Mets), two semi-professional football teams, the Binghamton Devils professional ice hockey team and Binghamton University Division I college sports.

Residents and visitors enjoy plenty of outdoor activities, thanks to the area’s Binghamton River Trail, Confluence Park and 420-acre Greenwood Park.

The city hosts a variety of events annually, such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Blues on the Bridge, Columbus Day Parade, Italian Festival, July Fest, St. Mary of the Assumption Bazaar and the I Love New York Festival.

Education

The city is served by the Binghamton City School District as well as the Catholic Schools of Broome County private district. 

Nearby institutions of higher education include Binghamton University, SUNY Broome, Davis College, and satellite campuses of State University of New York Upstate Medical University, the Ridley-Lowell Business & Technical Institute, and Empire State College.
