Platte County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home opened in 1955 providing medical excellence to the residents of Platte County.   The hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility with a 43-bed nursing home. Together, they provide diagnostic, therapeutic, palliative and preventive care to meet patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs.  As a a Level IV Trauma Center, PCMH offers inpatient and same day surgery; emergency and ambulatory service clinic, diagnostic lab and radiology, 16 slice CT and mammography, accomodates 40 visiting specialists; is JCAHO accredited and partners with local physician clinics.

The hospital also offers IPROB, a computerized system designed to reduce the chances of complications during labor and delivery.

Banner Platte County employs 156 employees and two emergency-department physicians.

Wheatland, Wyoming is only 20 miles east of the Medicine Bow National Forest and 25 miles from Laramie Peak. Set amid farms and ranches, this small community offers a nine-hole public golf course, city parks and other recreation amentities. Easy highway access to Grayrocks Reservoir to the east or the mountain parks to the west of Wheatland.
