Summers County ARH Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and designated level IV trauma center that enjoys a reputation of excellence as a patient-oriented and community-centered hospital.
Summers County is located in the scenic Appalachian mountains near the Virginia border. Our community offers the appeal of small-town living, but is easily accessible to major urban areas. We are located 84 miles south of Charleston, West Virginia, and 350 miles from Washington, DC.

Summers County is rich in outdoor activity with superb fishing, hiking, horseback riding and more. Two of West Virginia’s great state parks are within the Summers County boundaries. Pipestem Resort State Park, offers golf, horseback riding, fishing and conference facilities. Bluestone State Park, located on Bluestone Lake, offers cabins, camping, fishing, hiking and swimming.

Summers County is rich in rail and coal history and home of the Legend of John Henry, The Steel Drivin' Man. Annual festivals include: John Henry Days, the West Virginia Water Festival, Festival of the Rivers and Hinton Railroad Days
