*Summary: *We are seeking a dedicated and qualified, NH-licensed Dental Hygienist (Certified Public Health Dental Hygienist preferred) to join our Caried_Away _New Hampshire team. This position is focused on providing oral health services within schools in the North Country area (Berlin, Colebrook, Pittsburg, Stewartstown, Gorham, Milan, Lancaster, Whitefield, Littleton) to promote oral health and prevent and treat oral diseases.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about public health, possess strong interpersonal skills, be committed to improving the oral health outcomes of school-aged children, work with a collaborating dentist under public health supervision, collaborate with the clinical director, and oversee the work of a dental assistant.

The primary responsibilities will include providing dental assessments, administering preventive treatments, including silver diamine fluoride, glass ionomer sealants, interim therapeutic restorations, and fluoride varnish, and educating students on proper oral hygiene practices. You will also collaborate closely with school staff and parents to ensure effective communication and coordination of dental services.

Notably, this position is during school hours (typically 7:30 to 3:30) and may also include community engagement work outside of school hours.

*Responsibilities:*

* Maintain accurate records of screenings, prevention, treatments, and educational activities.
* Participate in community outreach programs and events to promote oral health awareness and obtain informed consent forms.
* Conduct dental screenings and assessments for school-aged children in accordance with state guidelines and protocols.
* Provide preventive and therapeutic dental services and treatments, including cleanings, fluoride varnish, glass ionomer sealants, silver diamine fluoride, and interim therapeutic restorations.
* Educate students, parents, and school staff on proper oral hygiene practices and dental health education.
* Stay current with dental hygiene practices, regulations, and trends in public health dentistry.
* Occasional community engagement activities, including, for example, back-to-school events, that will be out of normal school hours

*Qualifications:*

* Current NH dental hygiene license (CPHDH preferred)
* Experience working with children and adolescents in a dental, public health, or school setting
* Strong dental hygiene principles, practices, procedures, and infection control knowledge
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary Caried_Away_ team
* Commitment to promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases in school-aged children
* Flexibility to travel between school sites and community locations as needed
* CPR and BLS certification for health care providers and compliance with all health and safety regulations

*Working Conditions*:

* This position is based in schools, requiring regular interaction with students and school personnel
* Valid NH driver's license and ability to travel to schools and clinic locations with portable dental chair and supplies
* Requires moving dental equipment and supplies into and out of schools
* Ability and familiarity with electronic dental records and iPad use

The program implements the World Health Organization's Essential Dental Medicines and adheres to the American Dental Association guidelines for children's dental care.

The program brings care to kids, instead of kids to care. There are no shots, no drilling, no pain. Children don't leave school. Parents don't leave work. Care arrests 50% of cavities and prevents 80% of cavities. Caried_Away _implements silver diamine fluoride, glass ionomer sealants, and fluoride varnish to prevent decay, and silver diamine fluoride and glass ionomer interim therapeutic restorations to treat decay.
