*Position Summary:*
*Under the supervision of the Lead Dentist, performs patient care, treatment planning and referrals.*
*Essential Functions/Responsibilities*
* Coordinates the implementation of dental functions to meet patient care needs and industry and agency standards
* Appraises patient dental needs and correctional methods.
* Provides dental services to patients, including the application of fillings, extractions, x-rays, restorations, surgery, and dental prostheses, as appropriate, and diagnoses and treats oral lesions.
* Reviews rules and standards and may recommend changes in departmental policies and procedures, as appropriate.
* Supervises dental assistants at chair side to ensure the application of proper dental techniques and methods.
* Maintains patient records in chart of all dental services rendered.
* Attends doctor's meetings.
* Consults with patient physician where appropriate.
* Complete periodic chart reviews
* Other duties as assigned
*Education, Qualifications, and/or Experience*
* Must possess a valid and unencumbered dental license from the Dental Board of California
* Significant experience with surgery and dental prosthetics preferred
* Must be available to work most Saturdays.
