*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our healthcare team. *This is a night position, working 6pm to 6am*. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in various settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, and trauma centers. This role requires expertise in patient assessment, airway management, and the administration of respiratory therapy to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

*Duties*

* Assesses and evaluates patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned Patients
* Develops, discusses and communicates a plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/family/significant other in order to address all identified needs
* Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to ensure accurate medication administration.
* Demonstrates competence in performance of procedures and utilization of equipment for medical management according to hospital policy and procedures
* Provides bronchial hygiene therapy to include aerosol, MDI, CPT,IPV, and IPPB treatments by physician order

• Monitors all ventilator, BiPAP, and CPAP parameters as per established hospital policy

• Changes ventilator circuits, therapy supplies and equipment as per departmental and infection control policies

• Provides airway maintenance and tracheotomy care as per established policy

• Provides safe and effective endotracheal, nasotracheal, and tracheal suction techniques

• Monitors and maintains specialized equipment, alarms, and all monitors as applicable

• Provides CPR, intubation, and tracheotomy changes and other emergency patient care procedures as required

• Delivers oxygen therapy in the form of trach-collars, masks, and nasal cannulas as per physician orders

• Performs arterial blood gas punctures as ordered, ensures analysis is completed and results secured

• Assists physician in the completion of all bedside special procedures such as bronchoscopies and

thoracentesis

• Performs electrocardiograms, if applicable

• Performs/maintains quality controls on blood gas analysis machine to meet regulatory guidelines

* Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of respiratory care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
* Promotes infection control principles as identified in Hospital policy and procedure

*Qualifications*

* Graduate of an American Medical Association approved School of Respiratory Care
* Current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential (i.e., CRT, RRT).
* Current and valid State Respiratory Care Licensure
* Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English Sufficient hearing, vision and dexterity to perform duties safely

*CERTIFICATIONS:*

CRT or RRT, BLS certification, ACLS certification

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
