*Job Title: Endoscopy Admit/Recovery Nurse *
*Department: Salem Endoscopy Center/ASC*
*Reports to: Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse *
*Job Summary:*
The Endoscopy Nurse is to administer nursing care to patients before and after routine endoscopic procedures. This includes assessing the patient, preparing the patient for the procedure, and monitoring the patient after the procedure. The Endoscopy Nurse will report to the Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager and will communicate with related departments to ensure that patient care issues are addressed. Responsible for effective implementation of policies, procedures, and standards.
*Supervisory Responsibilities:*
Basic supervision of medical assistants in the admit/recovery room.
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
• Sets priorities to facilitate the timely and efficient flow of patients throughout the day.
• Reviews pre-procedure patient information including but not limited to allergies, medications, fall risk, vitals, and pain.
• Communicates appropriate information to other members of the healthcare team in a timely manner.
• Reviews discharge instructions with the patient pre-procedure, addressing questions and concerns.
• Documents information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient care information.
• Initiates IV access and administers pre-procedure medications if needed.
• Monitors patients for condition changes and assesses readiness for discharge by ensuring the patient has met criteria for discharge.
• Reviews procedure report prior to discharge, addressing patient questions.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations, recognizing the need for assistance and obtaining support from charge nurse, anesthesia personnel and/or physician as needed.
• Assists with opening and closing tasks:
o Counting and logging narcotics and propofol.
o Restocks linens, blanket warmer, linen cart and IV drawers.
o Complete chart audits, as needed.
• May train new staff as needed, ensuring checkoffs are completed.
• Demonstrates an awareness of safe conditions and safe acts, ensuring patient safety.
• Complies with attendance requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Understanding of HIPAA, and other applicable Federal and State regulations.
*Education and Experience:*
• Current Oregon State Registered Nurse License is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing is preferred
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.
• Current ACLS is required.
*Physical Requirements: *
• Varied activities include but are not limited to, walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38.00 - $48.29 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
