*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our small dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and proficiency with Eaglesoft. *Duties*
* Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health.
* Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
* Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
* Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques.
* Monitor and record medical and dental histories, updating records as necessary.
* Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
* Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting medical coding processes as needed.
* Adhere to all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
*Skills*
* Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix.
* Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols.
* Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring preferred.
* Skilled in chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
* Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
* Familiarity with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records) and general dentistry procedures.
* Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with patient privacy standards.
* Prior dental office or clinic experience is highly desirable.
