Are you a Licensed Veterinary Technician who loves surgery, enjoys taking charge of your own patients and is looking for new challenges every day? Do you have a solid background in exotic animal medicine or an ability to apply dog/cat knowledge to other species?

We are a growing, independently owned, exotics-only hospital seeking a full-time licensed veterinary technician to join our team of LVT's already providing stellar care for our patients. We would like you have have at least 3 years experience as a licensed veterinary technician and personal or professional experience with birds and other exotic animals and wildlife. A recently qualified LVT, with several years prior to school as a veterinary assistant would be great too!

You must be able to work independently, though on-the-job training with unfamiliar species will be provided. Duties will include, but are not limited to, daily surgery prep and monitoring, restraint and sample collection, positioning for radiographs, sterilization and infection control, record keeping and billing, preparation of estimates and client communication, medication and care of boarders and hospital patients, hospital cleaning and organization, training and supervising assistants, patient follow-through and lab result reporting.

We have excellent clients and serve a broad range of people - children with their first budgie or hamster, college students with fish or a bearded dragon, retired couples with 30+ year-old macaws and families with rabbits and ferrets. We do not see dogs or domesticated cats, though we do see exotic cats. People even travel to see us with their primates.

We are a growing clinic - we recently completed an expansion which doubled our square footage and increased the number of vets we could employ and clients we can see each day.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 40 per week
