While physicians gain all of the clinical knowledge they need while they’re in residency, they often times feel as though they didn’t receive enough guidance on what to do to prepare for life after training. That’s where PracticeMatch comes in.

As a Program Coordinator, you’re always on the lookout for resources for your residents and fellows – you want to see them succeed! PracticeMatch provides all of the resources that your program will need to get through their residency/fellowship. Below are some of the resources that you can expect to find in our Career Resource Center.

PracticePath Physician Career Guidebook
Our PracticePath Physician Career Guidebook offers information on everything that your residents and fellows will need guidance on once they’re ready to start searching for a job. Topics in the guidebook include contract negotiation, interview preparation, searching for job opportunities, how to take care of yourself while practicing, and more. You can request physical a physical or digital copy of the guidebook for your students here. If you need more than one, please reach out to Ashley Poshard at aposhard@practicematch.com.

Webinars
PracticeMatch offers webinars on topics like student loan repayment, what type(s) of insurance you should carry as a healthcare provider, visas, reference letters, writing your CV, and so much more. Your residents and fellows can view these webinars on-demand any time by clicking here. You are also more than welcome to submit your own webinar topic here if there’s something you think would be useful for your program.

Virtual Career Fairs
Our Virtual Career Fairs have proven successful by physicians across the nation. We offer virtual career fairs in all regions (West Coast, Mountain, Midwest, South, North Central, Northeast, Rural, and of course, Nationwide). We also have specialty career fairs, including specialties like Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, Primary Care, and more! Your residents and fellows should be able to find the perfect career fair for them. To view a list of all of our upcoming fairs, and to view the regions map, click here.

Didactic Courses
At PracticeMatch, we offer didactic courses to help you walk your residents and fellows through their journey to becoming attending physicians. Topics include CV preparation, interview preparation, student loan repayment and forgiveness/PSLF, contract negotiation, recruitment models, conducting a job search, and more! If you’re interested in signing your program up for one of our didactic courses, please reach out to Ashley Poshard at aposhard@practicematch.com.

CV Review
While it’s important for your residents and fellows to remember to routinely update their CV, it is even more important that the CV is properly formatted and has all of the proper information. Once a CV has been submitted, someone from our team will give it a green, yellow, or red rating, and from there, we will recommend an additional service based on their rating. CVs can be submitted here for review.

CV Builder
We offer a free CV Builder to aid your residents and fellows in creating their CV. All they need to do is visit this link, select a template, and enter their information! If they happen to have a PracticeMatch profile, their information from their profile will auto-fill the designated spaces on the template. If they don’t yet have a PracticeMatch profile, they can enter their information manually.

Empowered Physician Scholarship
Each year since 2017, we have given away a scholarship to someone who we believe shows the most drive and best understands the value of caring for others. To enter, all your residents and fellows have to do is submit their CV and a 500-word essay about why they chose to pursue medicine, and how they plan to use their newfound knowledge to better their community. The winner is typically announced on the first Monday of the new year and is asked for their headshot and a statement regarding winning the scholarship. You can find more information here.
