Medical Director Advanced Heart Failure Program, Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak

Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak, located in Royal Oak, Michigan, is seeking a board-certified heart failure trained cardiologist to serve as the Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure program. In this role the physician will lead a multidisciplinary heart failure program and support the launch of an LVAD program. Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak serves as the academic center and tertiary referral service for the eight hospital Beaumont system. The individual will be responsible for program development and growth, quality initiatives, as well as training and education. The candidate will oversee the inpatient heart failure unit, outpatient heart failure clinic located in the new state-of-the-art Max and Debra Ernst Heart Center, and work in close partnership with cardiac surgery to open a surgical LVAD program without cardiac transplantation. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic, and invasive procedures if desired. The position includes protected time for administrative work, teaching and research. The candidate must possess strong clinical skills and have experience with mechanical circulatory support devices, as well as a track record of clinical research, commitment to teaching, and strong desire to build a program. The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Beaumont Royal Oak has a long tradition of excellence in clinical care, innovative research and teaching. The individual will be eligible for appointment to the faculty at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
