As a Preventive Medicine Physician, you’ll supervise and provide direct patient care, recommend methods to improve overall wellness, and implement various programs to maintain health, improve fitness, and prevent disease or injury. You’ll also conduct medical research and participate in the education and training of medical students and personnel as part of the Army’s robust and reliable medical system.

GRANTS TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION BEFORE JOINING THE ARMY

The Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides yearly grants and monthly stipends to applicants.

This program could be for you if you looking to become a Preventive Medicine Physician.

FAP provides you with:

An annual grant of up to $45K
A monthly stipend of $2,608

Requirements for FAP:


Commitment to serve active duty in the Army after finishing your education

Open to physicians at any point during their residency training, such as, Post
Graduate Year (PGY) II and above. Must be PGY1 complete and successfully
passed all three steps of the USMLE/COMLEX exams on the first attempt. Certain
individuals may be eligible to apply in PGY I. A full
medical license is required for all applicants entering PGY III.
