Sleep Medicine Physician – Dream Big in Maine

St. Mary’s Sleep Medicine is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Sleep Medicine Physician to lead our Sleep Medicine Department in beautiful Lewiston, Maine. This is an exceptional opportunity for a clinically focused physician who thrives in a team-oriented, growth-minded environment—while helping shape the future of an AASM-accredited program.

This leadership role is predominantly clinical with meaningful influence—not a desk job. Your impact will come from elevating patient care, guiding a talented multidisciplinary team, and supporting the continued excellence of our program.

Position Highlights

A Clinically Based Leadership Role

  • Majority of time is direct patient care, including:
    • Full responsibility for all Sleep Lab interpretations
  • Leadership responsibilities are integrated into your schedule—not layered on top:
    • 8 hours/month of protected administrative time included in base compensation
    • Remaining hours follow our RVU-based productivity model

Administrative Scope (Site Director – AASM Standard)

  • Function as the Site Director for AASM Accreditation
    Lead through a dyad model to ensure ongoing compliance with AASM standards
  • Collaborate closely in managing the clinical aspects and performance of the provider team
  • Partner with system leadership to drive departmental growth and service expansion
  • No additional stipend—leadership responsibilities are part of the base role and recognized in the model design

Qualifications

  • MD/DO
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Sleep Medicine
    (Pulmonology training welcome but not required depending on your intended practice mix)
  • Unrestricted Maine medical license (or ability to obtain)
