Mercy Health System (MHS) has excellent opportunities for Internal Medicine Nocturnists to join a multi-specialty network located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. These are full time employment opportunities available at Nazareth Hospital.

MHS is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physicians interested in becoming part of a large physician network. The responsibilities for Nocturnist opportunities involve medical management of patients, ensuring continuity and appropriate level of care for all inpatients and providing patients with appropriate instructions for outpatient follow-up. The Nocturnist will provide oversight of a clinical team at night to include Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Residents (upon approval of anticipated residency programs). The Nocturnist will be involved in teaching and rounding with medical students and residents.

The Nocturnists will also play an integral role in medical staff matters, quality, utilization, and patient satisfaction. We provide strong support from our clinical documentation specialists, care coordination, and the quality departments.

The typical schedule includes night-time shifts of 7:00 pm-7:00 am in a 7-on/7-off model. Holidays will rotate among the Nocturnists.

Mercy Physician Network (MPN) has more than 40 office locations in the Philadelphia Region to serve patients. With over 80 physicians, most of which are board-certified in their fields, have the knowledge and expertise to deal with a multitude of health-related issues in a coordinated fashion. Mercy Physician Network is comprised of primary care practices in addition to nearly 20 specialties and subspecialties.

Recognition 
Mercy Physician Network was recognized with HAP’s 2014 Achievement Award for Operational Excellence for its submission entitled “Improving the Quality of Outpatient Care and Outcomes by Increasing Awareness of Quality Metrics and Performance Scores.” Mercy Physician Network had two papers, authored by Prashanth Ramachandra, MD, FACS, chairman of the surgery department at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals, accepted by the Society of American Gastroenterology and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) for presentation at the next national meeting in April 2015.

Quality Care 
Seven primary care offices have been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH). The PCMH model for improving primary care focuses on the whole spectrum of patient care, ensuring each patient receives the care they need when they need it. Three practices, Mercy Primary Care, Mercy Primary Care at Cottman, Mercy Primary Care at Rhawn and Mercy Family Medicine achieved level 3 PCMH status.
