Family Medicine – OB optional Opportunity
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) have an excellent full time employment opportunity for a Family Medicine physician to join an ambulatory practice located in Meridian, Idaho.
SAMG is a physician led and accountable 360+ provider multispecialty group practice seeking a Family Medicine physician who is dedicated to providing services for a full spectrum of patients to include birth to end of life. This practice experiences infrequent pediatric admissions, approximately four to six per year (typically newborns) for which the Family Medicine physician is responsible.
Requirements for this opportunity include successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine Residency program, a full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases and valid controlled substance registration with Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy & DEA. Board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment) is required as well as a strong clinical background and a desire to develop a full time practice to support the patients and families the practice serves. This opportunity does require the granting of privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC).
Obstetrics are optional for this opportunity and Endoscopic procedures are not part of the scope of practice as Endoscopic services are delivered by a Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance (SAHA) partner, Boise Digestive Health.
The schedule for this opportunity is a traditional clinic work week with no less than 36 hours of scheduled patient contact time. The call is shared with SAMG Family Medicine providers (presently 1:14). SARMC operates an inpatient adult medicine hospitalist service; however there are infrequent pediatric patients the Family Medicine physician will admit.
The affiliated hospital, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC), operates a 24-7 adult medicine hospitalist service as well as an OB hospitalist program. The adult medicine hospitalists are the primary admitting service for the vast majority of primary care providers in the Saint Alphonsus network. The group manages a high acuity medical service, is integrally involved with the stroke program, works in co-management with orthopedics, and is looking to further expand perioperative services and consult services.
The practice currently utilizes NextGen Ambulatory EHR, but is transitioning to Ambulatory Cerner PowerChart. The Inpatient EMR is currently Cerner PowerChart. Therefore experience with EHRs is desirable.
