Advocate Children’s Hospital/Advocate Medical Group seeks a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon with a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics to join our growing practice in 2019 at serving Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn and surrounding suburban communities. Advocate Children’s Hospital has two campuses, in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge, and is the largest network provider of pediatric services in the state of Illinois. 

Our ideal candidate has experience, an enthusiastic approach to providing care for children, and a passion for teaching pediatric residents and medical students in clinical outpatient and hospital settings. The new Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon will join our division of pediatric orthopedic surgeons across our two main Advocate Children’s Hospital campuses.  As part of our expanding Pediatric Orthopedic Center of Excellence, you will be a collaborative partner within a team of outstanding surgical professionals while enjoying full support from over 150 pediatric and surgical subspecialists, exceptional pediatric anesthesia and state of the art operating room capabilities.

The primary site of clinical practice will be Advocate Children’s Hospital - Oak Lawn, an expanding facility that currently is a 106 bed pediatric hospital including a 37 bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with plans to expand to 60 beds, a 15 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 9 bed Pediatric Surgical Heart Unit, a 45 bed Pediatric Medical/Surgical Unit, and a 12 bed Pediatric Emergency Department.

The Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon will see patients in outpatient clinics, perform surgeries, provide consults in the Pediatric Inpatient Units and Emergency Department, and share in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery on-call coverage. General Clinic Hours: 9-12 PM, 1-5 PM. Work Day Hours: Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM. Evenings/weekends/holidays as needed for call coverage. Physician will provide consults to patients in both the Pediatric Emergency Department and the Pediatric Inpatient Units (NICU, PICU, PSHU and Med/Surg) when on call. Expectation is to share Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Call in conjunction with existing Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. Call schedule of 1 in 3.

Qualified applicants will be Fellowship trained in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery, and Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois.
