Opportunity Details

Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock (BHMC-LR), in conjunction with Arkansas Health Group (AHG), is seeking a BE/BC Critical Care Anesthesiologist.

The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in Critical Care and BE/BC in both Critical Care and Anesthesiology. Candidates with proficiency in TEE or BC in advanced perioperative TEE would provide additional expertise to the existing team.

This opportunity is for a physician to split their practice equally between Critical Care and Anesthesiology with an existing critical care anesthesiologist. The structure is alternate weeks of OR anesthesiology and ICU coverage.

The OR anesthesia responsibilities include solo cases as well as supervising an excellent group of CRNA’s. Cases are performed on the BHMC-LR campus in five locations including: the main inpatient OR, outpatient day surgery, outpatient eye surgery, outpatient orthopedic center, and OB department. Cases include all aspects of anesthesia practice. The OR anesthesia call is 9 weekends per year and 1 night per week when on the OR rotation. There is night float, 5 nights at a time/3 times per year, which offers additional pay.

The critical care responsibility includes functioning as a consultant physician for patients in all ICUs at BHMC-LR which include surgical/trauma ICU, CCU, cardiac surgical ICU, and a medical ICU. The critical care coverage is provided in addition to two existing pulmonologists with a large volume practice. The ICU call is every 4th weekend and every other weeknight when on the critical care rotation. All 100+ ICU beds at BHMC-LR are also covered by an eICU service which provides back-up for the on call physician. There are additional moonlighting opportunities available in the eICU.

This offer is competitive with a base salary of $425K. There are additional incentives available on the anesthesia side through shared savings performance bonuses and on the critical care side through RVU production. There is a comprehensive benefit package including an employer retirement match.
