The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), Las Vegas Nevada, is recruiting for Staff Psychiatrists for our Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) Team, reporting to the Chief of Behavioral Health. The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is recruiting for Staff Psychiatrists to fill vacancies within our Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) Teams. Joining our team allows you to work in a multidisciplinary multi team setting! As a member of this team you get to work half of the time in PCMHI and the other half of your time will be spent as part of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). Work Schedule: Various Full-Time and Part-Time schedules available. This position may require nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts as necessary to meet patient care needs. Candidate will be required to provide on-call duties -- expected 2 - 3 times per year. Compressed schedule may also be considered. Available assignment locations will be discussed during interview with Service Chief and Selecting Officials, and may include any of our Behavioral Health Clinic locations, depending on Provider's interest and current vacancies.
PCMHI Duties: Responsible for treating Veterans with more acute mental health issues, while working directly with Patient Aligned Care Teams to facilitate Veterans' primary care treatment. Provide immediate, direct and on-site access for psychiatric consultation, assessment and mental health treatment as clinically indicated. Work within a multidisciplinary team matrix to actively collaborate, and, at times, lead, a multidisciplinary clinical staff assigned to the Behavioral Health/Mental Health Clinics, and coordinates Veteran care with other clinical and administrative supporting services. Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions supported by the psychiatric community standards of care; implements and meets performance requirements for quality and timeliness of clinical care; employs recover-oriented interventions; and successfully completed other clinical duties as assigned. Will also participate in the internal student training program.
BHIP Duties: Responsible for treating Veterans with more chronic mental health issues, by providing immediate, direct and on-site access for psychiatric consultation, assessment and mental health treatment as clinically indicated. Provide coverage for the same day walk-in outpatient clinic and respond to referrals from the Inpatient Medical Units. While working within a multidisciplinary team matrix, will actively collaborate, and, at times, lead, a multidisciplinary clinical staff assigned to the Behavioral Health/Mental Health Clinics, and coordinate Veteran care with other clinical and administrative supporting services. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions supported by the psychiatric community standards of care; implements and meets performance requirements for quality and timeliness of clinical care; employs recovery-oriented interventions; and successfully completes other clinical duties as assigned. Will also participate in the internal student training program.

- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Specialty
- Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.

Expected Salary range for well qualified BC Psychiatrist will range from $220,000.00 to $264,000.00 and include industry leading full benefits and features package to support high quality professional practice and favorable work-life-family balance.
