We are seeking exceptional Pulmonary and Critical Care physicians to join our team at Wake Forest School of Medicine.Selected candidates will join a dynamic, highly motivated section with successful clinical and research programs in airways disease, critical care, interventional bronchoscopy, general pulmonology. The section anticipates further growth in thoracic oncology, interventional pulmonology, sleep medicine, pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung diseases.  The Section on Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy & Immunologic Diseases has internationally recognized clinical and research programs in airways diseases (asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis) and in critical care medicine. Total external funding exceeded over $2 million in the past year. 

Candidates at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor will be able to fully develop their academic careers in clinical care, research, and education initiatives.  Ideal candidates will have both pulmonary and critical care skills.  Additional qualification include:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Additional training in Sleep Medicine or Interventional Bronchoscopy highly desirable
  • Eligible for or current North Carolina licensure

The selected candidates will join a rapidly growing section with successful clinical and research programs in airways disease, critical care, interventional bronchoscopy, general pulmonology. Areas of growth targeted in the next year will be in pulmonary medicine and sleep, though critical care clinical expertise is also needed.
