The faculty is responsible for education, patient care, service and research/scholarly activity.
? Medical degree
? Board certified in Family Medicine
? Unrestricted license or license eligible to practice medicine in Kansas
? DEA license
? Hospital privileges
? Experience in family medicine education
? Family medicine practice experience
? Experience conducting scholarly activity
? Ability to adapt to changing medical education and practice environments
? Previous faculty development courses
? Previous leadership experience
? Procedural skills
? Experience advising and counseling students and residents
Additional Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:
? Responsible for 4 year electives and sub-internships
? Contributes to the development of family medicine electives
? Assists with Family Medicine Clerkship
? Teaches first and second year medical students
? Assists with activities that support department-teaching functions including but not limited to standardized patient monitoring, academic detailing, teaching clinical skills, problem-based and CBCL learning sessions, lectures, etc.
? Assists with residency lectures, small group sessions and skills based teaching (e.g. ACLS, ALSO, etc.)
? 2-5 half-days per week of patient care and/or residency teaching supervision
? Periodically supervise medical students at JayDoc Community Clinic
? Participate with other faculty in development of scholarly activity and research
? School, campus and department committees as assigned or elected
