Assistant Ultrasound Director
Department of Emergency Medicine
Rush University Medical Center
Chicago, Illinois

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a residency-trained, BC/BE Emergency Medicine physician to join our Department’s Division of Emergency Ultrasound as Assistant Ultrasound Director. The Division of Emergency Ultrasound at Rush University Medical Center is an active and well-supported division, overseeing point-of-care ultrasound education, credentialing, and daily administrative responsibilities for medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and military personnel.

Our academic Emergency Department sees 72,000 patients a year in a state-of-the-art, 40,000 square foot ED. Rush Emergency Medicine proudly serves one of the most diverse urban communities in the country. We have a three-year EM residency program with 36 residents and a very strong ultrasound curriculum. We also have fellowships in emergency ultrasound, simulation, and addiction medicine. We lead multiple local, regional, and national ultrasound workshops and have an active research team, averaging over 50 publications per year.

Our division’s resources include 4 Zonare ZS-3s and 3 Mindray TE7s. We use Q-Path E for QA and are in the process of integrating with our EMR (Epic) and will officially begin billing for our ultrasound exams in the next few months.

The position includes clinical, administrative, and teaching responsibilities, as well as opportunities to become involved with a number of active research projects. Candidates must have successfully completed residency training in Emergency Medicine and an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. We are seeking teachers and leaders who are dedicated to advancing point-of-care ultrasound and emergency medicine.
