Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine and Beaumont Health

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at OUWB and Beaumont Health is partnering with the Beaumont Research Institute to recruit a faculty member into the rapidly expanding collaborative program in Population Health and Population Health Informatics. Established by a joint strategic planning process, the program in Population Health is key to the mission and vision of both OUWB and Beaumont. Working closely with the Founding Director of Population Health Informatics, Director of Informatics and Biostatistics, Director of Research Data Management and Computing, and a growing team of scientists and physician-scientists at OUWB and Beaumont, the successful candidate will be expected to advance population health research and innovation within the department, school and health system, and create a recognized and sustainable program. Job responsibilities would include at least 50% dedicated time for research, with remaining effort committed to medical student and resident education, and patient care (if appropriate).

The successful candidate will have an MD, DO, and/or PhD degree with academic credentials qualifying for appointment as an assistant or associate professor in the OUWB Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and demonstrated research expertise in population health, public health or related disciplines. In addition, individuals with an MD or DO must be Board certified or eligible (ABFM and/or AOA) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Medicine and Pediatrics. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required together with the ability to work collaboratively. Salary and startup will be competitive and commensurate with credentials.

It is an unopposed, dually-accredited program with a long history of training excellent family physicians.
