• This position is for a Medical Director at Allina Health's Cambridge Medical Center. The medical director will spend a portion of their time on administrative and leadership duties, and a portion of time on clinical practice. The leadership scope for this position is to oversee psychiatrists and psychiatry APRNs working in a partial hospitalization program (7 chairs) and day treatment program (7 chairs), and a 14-bed inpatient unit, MICD program, and psychiatry outpatient clinic. This is an opportunity to work in a robust and growing mental health program, that serves the population of Cambridge and surrounding areas. The ideal clinical scope would be supporting the 14-bed inpatient (adult only) unit. (This is flexible and can be discussed further based on physician preference).
  • Provides psychiatric services to a diverse patient population within the hospital inpatient unit
  • Provide direct clinical care in psychiatry
  • Develop behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans of care that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders
  • Engage the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals
  • Champion primary care behavioral health, a model of integrated care that focuses on the full spectrum of patient health through close collaboration with multi-disciplinary primary care teams
  • Develop and lead staff education in psychiatric issues
  • Participate in relevant and ongoing professional training
*Education :
  • This position requires a Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine.
*Qualifications/Skills :

Experience

  • Completion of a psychiatry residency

Licensure/Certification

  • Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry within 2 years of hire

*Work Schedule – Additional Position Details :
