ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

The Woodlands is a 27,000 acre master planned community founded in 1974, located 28 miles north of downtown Houston.

In the 1980 census The Woodlands had a little over 8,400 residents; since that time it has experienced unparalleled growth. Currently the population of The Woodlands is estimated to be over 90,000 residents. It is no surprise that the combination of excellent housing options, great schools, an abundance of parks and retail shopping combine to make The Woodlands an attractive place to live.

Like an artist's palette, The Woodlands offers a beautiful montage of living at its best. Magnificent homes, winding nature trails, parks, shops and places of worship are carefully arranged in this lively and colorful panorama. In addition to being a scenic masterpiece, the native forests nurture higher values than those that are purely tangible. It's the intangibles like human services, religious diversity, community spirit, healthcare and lifelong learning that are the cornerstones of community building.
