Saint Francis Health System is seeking a Nocturnist to join their practice in Oklahoma!

Partner(s) Overview:

  • 80+ Hospitalists on staff

Population Served:

  • Adults 16+
  • Average of 19 – 22 patients per 12 hour shift
  • Average night encounters are 5 – 8

Practice Support:

  • Administrative Staff: Executive Director & Clinic Supervisor
  • Advanced Practice Providers: 3 day shift, 2 night shift
  • Clinical Assistant: 1
  • RNs: 6 Hospitalist Care Facilitator, 5 at Yale, 1 at South

Hospital Privileges:

  • Internal Medicine Core Privileges


  • Standard 7 on 7 off, 12 hour shifts


  • Triage call every 4th day at , every evening at South.
  • Each Nocturnist rotates through Main Campus Hospital and South (6 miles in between)

Expected Volume:

  • 8 Patients per evening

Referral Pattern:

  • Average 3-5 calls per shift


  • By special request

Teaching Opportunity:

  • Yes, if desired


  • Every provider alternate schedules with a partner
  • ER call stops at 4:00pm
  • Moonlighting shift (4:00pm-7:00pm) covers up to 10 admissions
  • 14 True Nocturnists
  • 40% discharge by 10:00am, 50% by 12:00pm
  • 6 Traditional providers round at SFH South
  • 6 nurse navigators assist with discharge
  • 7 APP’s assist with admission, rounding and discharge planning (Discharge nurse, triage nurse, APP and case management participate in discharge huddle every day – They prep everything for the physician to review
  • Tenured staff: average 10 years
  • Communication is through EPIC, email, text (provider preference)
