About this Opportunity

The Division of Clinical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics (CMH) is seeking a full time pediatric clinical geneticist to join a dynamic and talented team of four pediatric geneticists, two clinical biochemical geneticists and twelve genetic counselors. Genetics providers work closely with the faculty and staff in the Molecular, Cytogenetics and Biochemical Genetics Laboratories. There are ample opportunities for collaboration with the Children’s Research Institute at CMH, the CMH Center for Pediatric Genomic Medicine, University of Missouri Kansas City and the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Opportunities for independent clinical and basic science research are available. Essential job responsibilities include evaluation and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of genetic disorders in ambulatory genetics clinics, multidisciplinary clinics, inpatient, and telemedicine consultation service at Children’s Mercy. Teaching medical students, residents, and other trainees is essential to this role. The Division of Clinical Genetics is devoted to advancing the career of junior faculty and it is supported by the Office of Faculty Development. Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in clinical genetics and genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics and licensed or license-eligible to practice medicine in the states of Missouri and Kansas. Board certification in pediatrics is preferred.
