At HCA, we believe graduate medical education is much more than medical training. Our goal is to inspire tomorrow’s physicians to care for and improve human life by focusing on patient-centered approaches to practicing the latest evidence-based medicine. As the nation’s top-performing healthcare system, we believe in challenging our residents to exceed our patient’s expectations at every turn. Today, we have more than 200 residency and fellowship programs in 43 hospitals across 13 states. Over the next five years, we will invest in 100 more programs that will offer 5,000 residency positions, making HCA one of, if not, the leading provider of graduate medical education in the country.

The Texas Gulf Coast region is one of the key geographic strategies for the expansion of HCA’s GME programs. We recently received ACGME approval to begin our Internal Medicine residency program in 2019 and have accepted an impressive inaugural class of residents. Additionally, we have partnered with University of Houston’s new medical school! We are looking for a core Faculty/Ambulatory Site Director to join our team in 2020.

Qualified Candidates:

• Must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Previous faculty experience with an ACGME accredited internal medicine residency program preferred; candidates with experience in GME program administration preferred.
• Be willing to combine outpatient resident teaching and direct patient care responsibilities (up to 50/50)
• Have strong administrative and team building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Visa candidates welcome to apply.

Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, etc., are highly encouraged to apply.

The person in position will be employed by a local, very well respected federally qualified health center located in north Houston, just 10 miles away from downtown Houston. Houston is the nation’s fourth-largest city. The most diverse city in America has a lot to offer, including professional sports teams, the theater and museum districts, hundreds of clubs and live music venues. With its gigantic Galleria and more, Houston is a shopper’s paradise. Houston’s sunny climate makes it easy to enjoy the municipal parks, jogging paths, and bike trails. Piney woods, area lakes, Galveston Bay, and sunny Gulf Coast beaches are all less than an hour away. Families will appreciate the excellence of the area’s public and private schools and availability of institutions of higher learning.
