Duke Health's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is expanding its outpatient services in an effort to help meet the access needs for behavioral health services within Durham, NC and in the greater Triangle community. We are seeking to hire a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join our growing multidisciplinary clinical services team.

Specifically, we are seeking individuals who are interested in participating in individual- and team-based clinical activities. For example, in addition to providing clinical services to adults, the clinical psychologist will be interacting with clinical social workers, Advanced Practice Providers, psychiatrists, other psychologists and administrative clinical support staff on a routine basis. Applicants should have training and expertise in performing comprehensive psychosocial assessments and have the ability to work with individuals and couples.

The ideal applicant would have: (a) strong clinical training from a scientist-practitioner or clinical science doctoral training program, (b) extensive training in use of the empirically supported interventions and principles of behavior change, (c) training in brief behavioral interventions (e.g., motivational interviewing), and contemporary cognitive behavioral therapies emphasizing acceptance and mindfulness. Applicants with training in clinical health psychology are encouraged to apply. Clinical responsibilities will include diagnostic evaluations, brief interventions, individual (mostly) and some couples/marital psychotherapy, group-based interventions, and participation in clinical consultation teams and multidisciplinary meetings. Applicants also will assist with the development of clinical care pathways and program development that address access needs using empirically supported approaches.
