Join an established Surgical Practice in Southwest Louisiana affiliated with Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Large Surgical Practice is seeking a full-time, BC/BE Acute Care Surgery & Trauma Surgeon. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Lafayette, Louisiana. Some call is required.

Qualifications:

  •  MD
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Critical Care
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana by date of hire

Highlights:

  • Professional Services Contract based on hourly/shift schedule
  • Trauma coverage up to 26 weeks/year
  • 7 On 7 Off
  • Primary Call average 3.5 nights during the week
  • Back up call an average of 3.5 nights during the week on
  • Critical Care coverage of surgery and trauma patients is separate from acute care surgery/trauma coverage, and will be 1 out of 3 weeks 
  • Lafayette General Medical Center - Level 2 Trauma Center

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) staffs a total of 475 beds, including 366 at its main campus, 85 at its Southwest campus and 24 at the Behavioral Health Unit.  It is the largest full-service acute-care medical center in Acadiana. LGMC operates the busiest emergency room and only Level 2 Trauma designation in Acadiana and handles the highest level of trauma in the region.

In an effort to meet the needs of the community, LGMC boasts a Center of Excellence in Breast Imaging, has an Accredited Cancer Center, an accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program and is an Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center, and is a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center in Maternity Care and in Bariatrics.
