The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained,  BC/BE  faculty member to serve the Department’s Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in Little Rock, AR.   

The sleep physician will evaluate and treat patients with both respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders in the UAMS Sleep Clinic. The sleep physician will also interpret sleep studies at the UAMS Sleep lab. Protected time is provided for sleep study interpretation. UAMS has a six bed sleep lab that currently operates 3-4 nights a week but with a goal to go up to at least six nights per week with the expected increase in volume with the planned expansion of the sleep program.

Requirements include M.D. or equivalent, license to practice medicine or eligibility for licensure in Arkansas, BC/BE in sleep medicine.  The salary is commensurate with experience.

The Buffalo River, a pristine floatable 120-mile long protected national park is two hours from downtown Little Rock. Travel is relatively easy due to the close proximity of the Little Rock National Airport and a number of interstate highways. Memphis is 140 miles east, St. Louis is 360 miles north, Dallas is 325 miles southwest and New Orleans is 420 miles south. Moreover, the Little Rock School District has approximately 25,000 students, who are educated in 50 schools throughout the system, and is also the home of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
