Overview

Position Summary

Provide consultations, diagnostic and treatment services to children with allergy and immunology related conditions. Participate in enhancing the quality of allergy/immunology services delivered at Children's Hospital of Illinois and the Department of Pediatrics.

 

  • The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking board-certified or board-eligible pediatric allergy and immunology to fill multiple full-time positions in the Department of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine division.
  • The ideal candidate will have completed 3 years of pediatric residency and 2 years fellowship in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology along with being BC/BE in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology and will hold or must apply and obtain an Illinois physician’s license. The position includes teaching medical students and residents in the department; provide in-patient and out-patient services for patients at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, UICOMP’s main clinical partner; the opportunity to develop research activities related to asthma, allergy and immunology; and perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide consultations, diagnostic and treatment services to children with allergy and immunology related conditions.
  • Participate in enhancing the quality of allergy/immunology services delivered at Children’s Hospital of Illinois and the Department of Pediatrics.
  • Help to develop educational programs and activities for medical students and residents in relation to pediatric allergy and immunology. 
  • Maintain a spirit of inquiry and scholarship in the activities of the Allergy/Immunology Service.

 


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
