Psychiatry: Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist

Cleveland Clinic Akron General (CCAG) is seeking a full-time BC/BE General Adult Psychiatrist or Certified Consult-Liaison (CL) Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services and oversight to a growing consult liaison service line. Advanced training as CL/Psychosomatic Medicine specialist is desired though not required.

The Department of Behavioral Sciences at CCAG provides a full scope of services including a 55 bed inpatient service, Interventional Psychiatry with ECT and TMS, adult outpatient clinics with both psychology and psychiatry, Intensive outpatient services (IOP), Alcohol, Drug Rehabilitation Centers (ADRC), outpatient Geriatric clinics and a new Child Psychiatric clinic. We handle over 2000 inpatient admissions annually.

We support a fully matched new Psychiatric Residency Training Program with its inaugural class in July 2021, now moving into PGY3, with an eventual total membership of 16 places. We are a primary teaching site for Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM). We also support a one year post PhD Psychology Residency.

The department also participates in clinical and translational research and is supported by a comprehensive research department. Publishing is encouraged and supported.

Faculty appointment and participation in residency training is integral to the role of CL attending.

CL services support a 500+ bed inpatient service both multidisciplinary medical, surgical and Gynecological/Obstetric, as well as a level one trauma, state of the art, Emergency Department, with psychiatric triage and social work support. Services are collegial and highly collaborative.

Position appointment is through Partners Physician Group (PPG). Appointment through Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute (CCF-NI) can be arranged as appropriate.
