OSF HealthCare Obstetrics & Gynecology Scholarship

PracticeMatch is excited to partner with OSF HealthCare to assist obstetrics & gynecology residents in their passion and drive to care for others. The OSF HealthCare Obstetrics & Gynecology Scholarship has been founded in partnership by PracticeMatch and OSF HealthCare to award Obstetrics & Gynecology residents who exhibit community involvement and dedication to caring for others.

This scholarship may help offset the high cost of education for a current Obstetrics & Gynecology resident. To enter, submit your CV and an essay (minimum of 500 words) that shares your personal passion for advancing medicine and care for patents based on Catholic health care principles to further respect and promote the dignity for human life. The winner of this scholarship will receive $2000 to be put toward their education.

CRITERIA
Scholarship essays will be judged on the student's ability to express and validate his or her view, rather than on whether PracticeMatch agrees with the student's view. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate, and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the value of caring for others through a medical career.
JUDGES
Leaders from PracticeMatch and OSF HealthCare who have a close appreciation of the value and impact of healthcare providers in their community and across the nation.

No application is required. Contest is open to medical school students located in the United States, except where void or prohibited by law.
Essays must be written in English only.
Entrant must be enrolled in an ACGME accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program at the time of the contest deadline. Verification of enrollment will be required for all winning entrants.
To avoid disqualification, mailed-in essays must include a stapled cover sheet with the following information:
- Your name, address, email address, and phone number.
- The name of your residency program or medical school.
- Mailed-in submissions (CV & Essay) must be stapled.
Essay must be no fewer than 500 words in length, double-spaced. Spelling errors and/or written corrections (by anyone) found on the essay will count against the final grade and should be omitted before submission.
One entry per student per contest.
Essay must be submitted online or postmarked by October 6th, 2024, no later than 11:59 PM, Pacific Standard Time.
Judges have the right to provide contest deadline extensions when deemed appropriate.
Essay must be solely the work of the entrant. Plagiarism will result in disqualification. Essays must not infringe on any third-party rights or intellectual property of any person, company or organization. By submitting an essay to this contest, the entrant agrees to indemnify PracticeMatch for any claim, demand, judgment or other allegation arising from possible violation of someone's trademark, copyright or other legally protected interest in any way in the entrant's essay.
Decisions of the judges are final.
Employees of PracticeMatch, its board of directors and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest. Past winners are not eligible for this contest.
All entries become the property of PracticeMatch and will not be returned.
On November 1st, 2024, the winner and all other participants will be notified via email and announced on our website.
The winner is responsible for providing their mailing addresses and other information required by law, including tax ID numbers, in order to receive the prize.
The entrants agree to allow PracticeMatch and OSF HealthCare to post their name and photo on any of its affiliated websites and to use any data submitted with the entry to build a profile of the entrant on our site.
The first place essay may be posted in its entirety on any of these websites with full credit given to the author.
The winner will be solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes.
