Access Health Windom and Avera Medical Group Windom is a partnership between Rural Health Inc. and Avera. This collaboration allows a rural setting to have affordable health care in a number of services, including annual physicals, chronic disease management, women’s care, X-ray services, immunizations and more. 

Windom Area Hospital is a 25-bed facility owned by the City of Windom.  The hospital has an average census of 10-15 patients and assists in the delivery of approximately 15 newborns per month.  The hospital recently completed the addition of a new Emergency Department and CT Scanner.  The medical staff consists of eight primary-care physicians and three mid-level providers.  The hospital boasts a variety of outreach services. 

Windom, Minnesota is a lively and growing city, and is the county seat of Cottonwood County.  A transportation hub for the region, Windom is served by U.S. Highway 71 and MN Highway 60.  The city has a diverse economy including manufacturing, agriculture, medical and adult care facilities.  Windom’s courthouse square is the focal point for a variety of successful retail businesses.  Windom has long been a safe, desirable community with excellent public services, schools, clubs, activities and events.  Windom’s population is approximately 4,700 people.  

Windom is located 2 hours southwest of Minneapolis and 1.5 hours northeast of Sioux Falls, SD.

Windom has an excellent public school system, including a brand new elementary school (K-5th) opened in September of 2020, and a combined middle and high school (6th-12th).  The nearest community colleges are located in Worthington, MN just 28 miles southwest of Windom and Jackson, MN, located 19 miles south of Windom.
