CHI St Joseph's Health is a Joint Commission accredited 25-bed critical access hospital located in Park Rapids, MN with a 24-hour Emergency Department and Level IV Trauma Center with 13 beds. We are located in a rural community of 3,276 in north central Minnesota that serves as the county seat for Hubbard County. CHI St. Joseph’s Health is the sole provider of hospital services for the 23,475 residents of Hubbard County as well as portions of Becker, Cass and Wadena counties (~ 3,800 square miles). We are located in a popular resort area where the summer population can be in excess of 40,000. We are a modern rural facility that offers state-of-the-art facilities with many of the same services you would expect to find in larger, urban centers. Our staff is compromised of approximately 300 employees. St. Joseph's provides care to residents and their families in Hubbard County and portions of Becker, Cass, and Wadena counties. Cities served include Park Rapids, Menahga, Nevis, Osage, Lake George, Akeley, Laporte, Walker, and beyond. As a major financial contributor, St. Joseph's has an impact in our area of approximately $36 million each year.Where We Are
The Park Rapids Lakes Area is a beautiful place with a different pace. Internationally known as the Gateway to the Mississippi River at Itasca state park that attracts over 500,000 visitors annually to the region. Park Rapids is a well-known vacation destination. It offers an outstanding quality of life. The area has hundreds of beautiful lakes and millions of acres of state and national forest which create incredible scenery. It is a friendly and charming community with plenty of shopping, recreation, schools, churches and affordable housing.
