Founded in 1915, the Henry Ford Medical Group is one of the nation’s largest and most experienced group practices. The 1,900-member group of physicians and researchers fosters innovation and advancement in clinical care, education and research while encouraging improvement in technology and patient care processes.

As one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers, Henry Ford Health trains more than 1,500 medical students, residents, and fellows annually in more than 50 accredited programs. Its dedication to education and research is supported by nearly $100 million in annual grants.

The medical group’s focus areas are further enriched by the new Henry Ford Health + Michigan State University Health Sciences, a 30-year partnership created to set a new standard for how individuals and communities experience care across the state of Michigan and the nation. This joint research enterprise is in pursuit of a robust NCI-designated cancer program, a focus on academic medical and health education of the future, and fighting health disparities. Henry Ford Health also has a long-standing relationship with Wayne State University.

With 33,000 team members, Henry Ford Health comprises five acute care hospitals, three behavioral health facilities, 250+ ambulatory sites, Health Alliance Plan (a health insurance and wellness company) and a clinically integrated network. The system's flagship, Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, is a Level 1 Trauma Center recognized for clinical excellence in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, multi-organ transplants and cancer treatment.
