PAGNY healthcare professionals provide care to patients, as well as to children under one year of age, who are housed at Rikers Island where their mothers are incarcerated. Services include primary care , psychiatry, podiatry, methadone counseling, and nursing. In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals our teams improve the quality of care for patients, participates in new training programs, and engages in important, groundbreaking research.

With approximately 55,000 admissions per year and an average daily population of 10,000, the NYC jail system is one of the largest in the nation.
